Mice Nesting in Air Conditioning Units

The insulation in air conditioning units often attracts mice especially in the wintertime. The unit is a warm dark place, and they love this for nesting.

Mice can get in through your entry-points of your air conditioner via air vents, pipe entries, access panels and cable entries. If your home smells like spoiled rotten eggs, the cause of the odour is often dead mice.

They can take shelter in your air duct, where they often die and begin to decompose. That’s why, when you turn on your AC, a horrible odour circulates throughout your home. You can see the mice nests in an AC in the photos below.
